All information provided by the specification generator follows the guidelines set by British Standard BS 5839-6:2013, which is the code of practice for the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection and fire alarm systems in domestic premises. There are also different Building Regulations for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and other guidance documents such as the Local Authority Co-ordinators of Regulatory Services (LACORS) which refer back to British Standard BS 5839-6.

All information produced by the specification generator is a guide based on standard dwellings with no floor greater than 200m2 in area. A Fire Risk Assessment may result in a higher level of protection in some circumstances. If you have any concerns regarding your final specification please consult the BS 5839-6:2013 Standard.
